Exporting to Google (route changes and avoidances) Follow
Road Trip Maps is a great planning tool to help you plan your camping route from beginning to end. We love helping you plan your adventures and where you will camp for the night!
However...we are not a navigation tool. This is why we give you the option to "Export to Google". So Google can help you with the route, itself, to the extent that their performance allows.
When you choose to "export", there is a pop up note that instructs that Google may change the route, if you proceed. This is due to other road options that may be available through that process that may not be options on our planner.
If you have "avoidances" pre-chosen in the Road Trip Maps set-up, those are avoidances for our app/planner only. When you export to Google, we can not control any "options" or "avoidances" you have set through your own Google maps. Because of this, avoidances you may have chosen through The Dyrt Road Trip Maps set-up may change due to the choices you have pre-set in Google Maps.
If you notice something has been added to the route that you don't want there, or something that you chose as an avoidance through Road Trip Maps has changed once you export to Google, please check your Google Map settings to see if, perhaps, those settings are different than what you chose during route planning on The Dyrt, thus giving you different results.
