Will Road Trip Maps navigate my RV on a safe route that is suitable for my rig size? Follow
The Dyrt's Road Trip Maps is a handy planning tool, meant to help you plot out your adventures and find campgrounds along the way. The tool is not mean to be a navigation system. We can help you plan stops and provide a route to them from the app or web, but those locations (campgrounds/cities/towns) need to exist in The Dyrt database.
The tool does, however, have an option that allows you to export your trip to Google Maps. You can then use Google Maps as a navigation tool to get from one stop to the next on your route if you prefer.
If you're an RV'er, you might have noticed that you will input the height and length of your rig during the initial set-up of a trip you are planning out. There are two reasons we ask for these details:
Length - Some campgrounds have a max RV length restriction. The Dyrt will search for campgrounds that can accommodate the length of your rig as long as that information is in our database.
Height - While not currently populated in any output of your planned trip, this information is collected so that, in the future, we can help you with route navigation and roadway restrictions.
PLEASE NOTE: You should refer to a proper navigation system that will take into account your RV's length/width/weight to best determine routes that are appropriate for your journey.
